Myth/Culture, you must be cleansed/inherited
The triuth is no law forces this. The HIV Prevention & Control Act 2009 makes forced wife inheritance illegal. You have a right to say NO.
A widow can’t own property. This is a lie, The Law of Succession Act + Constitution 2010 Article 27 protects you. You CAN inherit matrimonial property, land, and bank accounts.
Shaving the head, 40 days seclusion. These are cultural practices, not legal requirements.
Children belong to the husband’s family. It is a lie Children belong to BOTH parents. The Children Act 2022 protects your custody rights.
Widows are cursed/they carry bad luck. This is stigma, not truth. You are not a curse. You are a person who lost someone you loved
