Walking Beside Women: My Leadership Journey

A certificate is not just a piece of paper—it represents growth, learning, and the courage to lead with purpose.

Learning today, leading tomorrow...

For a long time, I did not see myself as a leader.

When I thought about leadership, I imagined people standing on stages, giving speeches, leading organizations, or holding powerful positions. I believed leadership belonged to people with titles and authority, not to ordinary women like me who were trying to balance family responsibilities, personal dreams, and everyday challenges.

But life has a way of teaching us lessons when we least expect them.

Over the years, I have come to understand that leadership is not about a position. It is about influence, courage, and the willingness to help others move forward. Leadership begins the moment we decide that our experiences, our voices, and our actions matter.

My own leadership journey started quietly.

Like many women, I spent years putting the needs of others before my own. Family responsibilities often came first, and my personal goals were placed on hold. There were times when I doubted my abilities and questioned whether I could make any meaningful difference in the world.

However, those experiences also taught me resilience.

I learned how to adapt when circumstances changed. I learned how to keep going even when the path ahead was unclear. Most importantly, I learned how important it is for women to support one another.

As I began connecting with women's communities, I met women whose stories inspired me deeply. Some had overcome poverty, discrimination, violence, or loss. Others were fighting for education, equality, and opportunities in their communities. Despite facing enormous obstacles, they continued moving forward with determination and hope.

Their courage inspired me to find my own voice.

One of the most transformative experiences in my journey has been becoming a Trip Leader with a women-centered travel community. At first, I saw it simply as an opportunity to connect with people and contribute in a meaningful way. I did not realize how much it would change my understanding of leadership.

As a Trip Leader, I have had the privilege of meeting women from different backgrounds, professions, and life experiences. Many women join our trips feeling uncertain, nervous, or hesitant about stepping outside their comfort zones. Some are traveling independently for the first time. Others are recovering from difficult life experiences and looking for a space where they can rediscover themselves.

In those moments, leadership is not about giving instructions.

It is about creating a safe environment where women feel seen, valued, and supported. It is about encouraging someone who doubts herself. It is about listening carefully when someone shares her fears. It is about helping women recognize strengths they may not yet see in themselves.

I have witnessed incredible transformations.

Women who arrived quietly and hesitantly began sharing their stories with confidence. Women who doubted their abilities discovered new courage. Women who felt isolated found friendship and belonging.

These experiences taught me that leadership is often found in the smallest acts of encouragement and compassion.

Beyond travel leadership, I have also discovered the power of storytelling.

Through writing and sharing experiences, I have been able to connect with women whose journeys are very different from my own, yet deeply familiar. Every story has the potential to inspire someone else. Every voice has the power to remind another woman that she is not alone.

This is one of the reasons why being part of World Pulse means so much to me.

World Pulse is more than a platform. It is a global community where women can speak openly, share honestly, and support one another without judgment. Here, I have seen leadership in many forms. I have seen women leading movements, leading communities, leading businesses, leading families, and leading conversations that create meaningful change.

Their stories remind me that leadership does not require perfection.

It requires authenticity.

Today, my vision of leadership is simple.

I want to continue creating spaces where women feel empowered to share their voices. I want to encourage women who have put their dreams on hold to believe that new beginnings are possible. I want to support women who are searching for confidence, connection, and opportunity.

I believe every woman carries leadership within her.https://www.facebook.com/share/v/1CvbRPUhWu/

Sometimes it appears as courage during difficult times. Sometimes it appears as kindness toward another woman. Sometimes it appears as persistence when giving up would be easier.

My commitment is to keep learning, growing, and supporting others wherever I can.

I may not hold a powerful title, but I have learned that leadership is not measured by status. It is measured by the lives we touch, the encouragement we offer, and the positive change we help create.

If my journey has taught me anything, it is this:

A leader is not someone who stands above others.

A leader is someone who walks beside others and helps them discover their own strength.

As women, when we lift one another up, we become stronger together. Our voices become louder. Our impact becomes greater. And together, we can create the kind of world we want future generations to inherit.

That is the kind of leadership I believe in.

And that is the leadership I hope to continue practicing every day.
