Vulnerable Young Mothers with Children Shelters in Rwanda

I love to share the journey I started with this first of many homes to be built intentionally to shelter young women victim of abuse and rejected by their families. Culturally, teenage pregnancy not only brings shame to the young mother but also the families finding very difficult to accept it and many ends up dishonoring their young daughters who find themselves on the streets.

As girls’ lives worsen, education interrupted and many risk being abused again by those who takes advantage of their vulnerability by giving them false promises leaving them with other pregnancies. I thought that we cannot keep on watching and ignore what’s happening to this vulnerable population.

These young mothers physiological and psychological needs will be met. The roof over their heads, basic needs supplied, safety and security for them and their children provided. Building a sense of belonging, reviving hope, reshaping character, developing personal skills and finding the young mothers’ potentials to empower them are our shelters main objectives. The aim of these shelters is reaching their wellness future goals.

I call upon whoever is compelled to support this cause to join with me with ideas, materials to better these young mothers and their children’s lives. Your prayers, cheers and encouragements are highly appreciated.
