Somewhere else, I would be her.

The only difference between me and Afghan girls is where we were born.💔 I get to dream, graduate and exercise all my rights.

I get to speak.

I get to show my face.

I get to dream about my future and work towards it.

Not because I am smarter, stronger, or more deserving than her, but because I was born somewhere different. I did nothing to earn the freedom I have. I was simply born somewhere else.

I can't help but think of the girls whose dreams are being silenced before they even have the chance to begin.

Girls with dreams, talents and voices just as valuable as mine, yet denied the freedom to learn, lead and simply exist as themselves.

So while I celebrate my achievements or any milestone in my life, I also remember them.

Because freedom should never depend on your postcode, your passport, or the place you happened to be born. Somewhere in the world a girl or a woman is fighting for rights that many of us woke up with.

AND THAT REALITY SHOULD NEVER FEEL NORMAL!!!
