Silent Bearer

Silent Bearer

Behind every quiet smile, I meet women who carry so much. A wife, a mother, a sister, a daughter — giving, holding, sacrificing, often to meet what society expects of marriage.

In many of our communities, women are told to stay. Even in relationships that hurt. Even when peace is missing. We hear it all the time: “He loves me, he will change.” But I want to ask you something, not as a judge, but as someone who walks with families every day:

Does staying cost you more than leaving?

Are we staying because we believe in change, or because we fear the labels that come with being a single mother?I’ve sat with mothers raising two, three, even four children on their own. Finances are tight, yes. Days are long. But what I hear most is this: “I am tired, but I am at peace.”

Peace matters. Your mental health matters. Your heart matters.

Chronic stress, anxiety, and a broken spirit don’t just disappear because we keep silent. They show up in our bodies, in our parenting, in our joy.

As a social worker, my job isn’t to tell you what to do. My job is to remind you of what you already deserve:- *You deserve safety* in your home and in your heart.- *You deserve respect*, whether you are married, single, co-parenting, or rebuilding.- *You deserve support*. There are community groups, counseling services, legal aid, and other mothers who understand. You do not have to carry this alone.- *You deserve a life where your children learn that love does not mean enduring pain.*

To the woman reading this: choosing peace is not failure. Choosing yourself is not selfish. You are not “less” because your path looks different from the norm. You are resilient. You are modeling courage for the next generation.

So I’ll ask again, gently:

Why do you have to be a silent bearer?

You can speak. You can set boundaries. You can ask for help. And when you do, you give other women permission to do the same.

You are not alone. Your story matters. And your healing is possible.❤️
