Our Children Are Growing Up Online. Are We Really Paying Attention?

There was a time when parents worried about where their children were and who they were with. Today, many children are physically at home, yet they are exploring a digital world that many of us do not fully understand.

The internet has become their classroom, playground, and social space. It offers incredible opportunities, but it also exposes children to risks such as harmful content, cyberbullying, misinformation, and influences that can shape their values and identity.

The greatest concern is that many of these influences happen quietly. While we are protecting our children from dangers outside our homes, we may not realize the dangers they encounter through a screen.

This is not about rejecting technology. The internet is a powerful tool for learning and growth. But children need guidance, conversations, and support to navigate it safely.

Our children are growing up online. The question is: are we paying enough attention to the world that is shaping them?
