My Leadership journey

My aim is to help the needy women mostly the refugee women and girls living in Kampala , Uganda . Refugees face a variety of problems including displacement ,abuse ,betrayal, hopelessness , trauma, discrimination , poverty , health issues , violence , education and more with the help of world pulse , I intend to connect with sisters who will guide and direct me accordingly through out my leadership journey.

My major theme is to support and enable refugee women who have difficulties in representing their interests , to exercise their rights by expressing their views , explore and make informed choices , to enable them to participate in livelihood programs , to call for attention to the existing problems while identifying solutions , to coordinate efforts of the masses , while enabling them access to proper medication ,to have access to professional developments , and work to bring about changes , uplifting their standards of living that will make our world a better place .

SOLUTION

My aims are to promote inclusion , encourage and initiate social change to the refugee women , i am aiming at empowering the refugee women to exercise their rights and enhance their wellbeing , with the motive of promoting equality justice and fairness .

I intend to empower refugee women to speak up for themselves , to provide them prescribed medication ( for those who can not afford ) .

To also enable them to participate in influencing the decisions that are being made about their lives and future. And to also provide them access to professional development .

To create livelihoods improvement for women .

To help them create a safe environment , by building their confidence .

To introduce them to leadership and personal growth programs .

To encourage women pursue their goals .

To inspire women to believe in their capabilities .

CHANGE MAKING EFFORTS AND HOW I GOT STARTED ;

My approach starts with identifying the root causes of market failure that disadvantage or exclude refugee and poor women from wage and self employment opportunities. I am taking my time to understand business and government capabilities, individuals altitudes, economic and social relationships, power relations and institutions with the incentive and ability to deliver change.

I intend to work in partnership with public and private actors , by catalysing innovative market - based solutions that have the potential to impact large numbers of refugee and poor women. My aim is to make market systems work better for my target group , while demonstrating benefit to public and private actors that play a role in the systems to ensure local ownership and sustainability and continued improvement beyond the program period.

I also intend to, Establish linkages and dialogue between different actors. To provide technical assistance to develop new models . To share financial risks to kick- start and test innovative models . To engage in direct research and advocacy . To improve capacity of market actors . To share lesson learned and vest practices .

My approach will involve experimentation and learning rapidly from failures and amplifying successes. by sharing lessons learned and vest practices to encourage involvement of other market actors to scale solutions and develop new innovations to maximize impact for the target group

VISION FOR CHANGE .

To support women to rebuild their confidence because most lost hope , value in the process of battling with trauma , most lost meaning of life and are living just for the sake of life . Others were sexually abused and contracted Aids , Others lost their loved ones , others lost their belongings in form of assets . Begining life from zero after reaching a reasonable height is not easy. So I intend to encourage women who paused their lives to continue living with hopes and dreams just like normal beings , life goes on in whichever situation .

My focus system will be in four inter related market systems , which selected based on their relevance to poor women, the opportunity to positive impact, and the feasibility of interventions.

1) Labour system , which improves access to better wage employment.

2) Skills system , which improves skills development to unlock wage and self employment opportunities.

3) Medium and large Enterprises system , which is good at creating more and higher paying jobs through growth of medium and larger manufactures.

4) Micro and small enterprise , which is good at reducing barriers to business entry and growth and stimulating innovation .

My program targets is to reach atleast 300,000 women, including atleast 200,000 refugee women living in Kampala, Uganda and 100,000 poor women who are Ugandan citizens Well the journey of my life shaped me into becoming a leader , the urge to wipe all the mistreats like discrimination , violence , inequality , education and more . I felt correction was required being a victim I stepped forward , I always asked my self who was the better person to help others ? My answer was" it would be that one who has traveled in that very path" because he or she would have gained expirence . I believe leadership is about the positive changes we strive to put or implement in place , it is all about the lives we awaken or bring back to life .

I also intend to empower women in different sectors to create grounds for raising voices and up lift each other .

To share stories relating to real life stories of those who made it after striving .

I intend to uplift their standards of living in all aspects .Every woman should have access to learn and grow creating room for leadership and personal growth .

Justice and security should serve as a priority to every woman and girl child .

Women rights should be observed and protected .

All in all , supporting ourselves as women we form strength our voices roar louder to the extent of breaking walls ( challenges faced by women ), together as a team of women we adjust our impacts to the level were we want them ( wiping out the challenges ), and the outcome is building a better place for future generations .
