I Refused to Let My Dreams Have an Expiry Date
There was a time when I believed opportunities belonged to people with powerful connections, money, or perfect English. Living in Pakistan, I often saw talented women and girls give up on their dreams because they felt the world was too far away to notice them.
I almost believed that too.
Instead of giving up, I started looking for opportunities beyond my surroundings. Every scholarship application, every conference, every leadership program became more than just a form to fill out—it became a declaration that my dreams mattered.
Many times, I wasn’t selected. Sometimes I waited for results that never came. Other times, I questioned whether I was good enough. Rejection can quietly convince you to stop trying, but I made a different choice. I decided that every application would make me stronger, more confident, and better prepared for the next opportunity.
At the same time, I realized that my journey was not only about me. I wanted girls in my community to believe that they, too, could dream beyond the limits placed around them. Education, confidence, and leadership are gifts that grow when they are shared.
Today, I continue learning, improving my skills, and connecting with people from different parts of the world. My dream is not simply to travel. My dream is to return with knowledge, ideas, and opportunities that can create lasting change for other women and girls.
World Pulse reminds me that no voice is too small to be heard. Every woman has a story worth telling, and every story has the power to inspire someone else.
If you are reading this and wondering whether to take the first step, this is your sign. Do not wait until you feel perfect. Start where you are. Keep learning. Keep applying. Keep believing.
Dreams do not have an expiry date. They only need someone brave enough to keep chasing them
